The adoption of appropriate technology in service delivery in South Africa

Current state service delivery is not adequately responding to the need. There are inefficiencies in government delivery processes, including unauthorised expenditure, unsustainable and outdated technologies. Given a paucity of evidence linking the provision of basic services and the appropriate use of innovative technologies, this paper investigates the adoption of appropriate and innovative technologies in the service delivery processes of poverty-stricken South African human settlements.
