South Africa’s future will be decided in our cities
This report by the Centre for Development and Enterprise (CDE) titled "South Africa’s future will be decided in our cities" sheds light on the importance of cities in determining the destiny of South Africa. Drawing on the CDE's extensive research on urban areas and incorporating the expertise of renowned local and international economists, the report aims to provide fresh insights and stimulate further investigations into the economic aspects of cities within the country. This collaborative project received vital support and contribution from Economic Research South Africa (ERSA), which played a pivotal role in its successful completion. Notably, the participation of Professor Ed Glaeser, an eminent urban economist and current chairperson of the Economics Department at Harvard University, added significant value to the endeavour.
