Social and Labour Plan Mining Community Toolkit
This Toolkit aims to provide mine workers and mine-affected communities with the information they need to understand the social and labour plan (SLP) system, critically analyse an SLP, and take part in monitoring whether a mine is complying with its commitments. The Toolkit can assist in planning how to engage with mining companies and for government to play an active role in making sure that companies do what the law requires in terms of their SLP obligations. The Toolkit is divided into three parts. Part 1 looks what should be included in an SLP design. Part 2 describes who should be included in the SLP process and how you can get involved. Part 3 provides a guide for how to access to an SLP, how to analyse it and how to use this information to track if a mine is complying with its commitments.
