Snapshots of innovation

This presentation showcases a compilation of short profiles detailing affordable housing projects across the African continent. Each project exemplifies real-world applications of innovation in areas such as end-user finance, building design, construction materials/methods, green building, and more. These profiles feature innovative projects from 52 African countries, highlighting pioneering approaches and new housing and housing finance products aimed at addressing the pressing challenge of housing affordability.

The profiles were originally included as text boxes in the 2023 Housing Finance in Africa Yearbook, which can be accessed on CAHF's website. By consolidating these snapshots of innovation into one booklet, readers can easily explore projects categorised by subject area, including finance, green building, affordability, building materials, partnerships, and target groups/mass housing projects. This collection provides an exciting and insightful glimpse into the diverse initiatives happening on the ground, serving as inspiration and offering valuable ideas for housing and housing finance practitioners seeking practical solutions.
