The Cities Support Programme (CSP) is undertaking a Small-Scale Affordable Rental (SSAR) Pilot Project to determine what is needed to improve the existing enabling environment, to scale up this component of the rental housing market in South Africa. ​At the symposium, the enabling framework was discussed, for future sustainable investment in SSAR, and a Call of Action was adopted by the participants who represented national government, provincial and local government, housing institutions, private sector funders, NGOs, and SSAR Private Developers.
