Report

Africa

The report explores migration trends and residential mobility in Gauteng, South Africa. Drawing on responses from nearly 14,000 adults, it reveals that 45% of residents were born outside the province—36% from other parts of South Africa (especially Limpopo) and 10% from other countries. The report also highlights how frequently people move homes within Gauteng and examines the social and economic factors driving these moves (PDF, 3.2MB). These findings provide valuable insights for urban planning and policymaking in the region.
