The Gauteng City-Region Observatory's (GCRO) Quality of Life Survey is one of South Africa's largest social attitude surveys, conducted every two to three years since 2009. It offers valuable data that has influenced government policy, raised public awareness of life in Gauteng, and contributed to academic research.

The latest survey, conducted in late 2023 and early 2024 with over 13,700 participants, provides fresh insights into development and well-being in Gauteng. It examines various aspects, including socio-economic conditions, satisfaction with services and government, socio-political views, psychosocial attitudes, and future outlooks.
