The main purpose of the Guide to Namibia’s Flexible Land Tenure Act, 2012 is to facilitate a better understanding of the Flexible Land Tenure Act, 2012, and its implications, ensuring that the intended beneficiaries can access and utilise their land rights effectively and responsibly. It aims to promote transparency, inclusivity, and equitable access to land resources in Namibia.

The objectives of the Flexible Land Tenure Act of 2012 are as follows:

  1.  To create alternative forms of land title that are simpler and cheaper to administer than existing forms of land title.
  2.  To provide security of title for persons who live in informal settlements or who are provided with low-income housing.
  3.  To empower the persons concerned economically by means of these rights.
