This media article reflects the sentiments of local government experts who agreed that the South African local government sphere was not in a good state. Local government experts agreed that the South African local government sphere needs improvement, and that citizens have the right to demand quality services from municipalities. This was said during an online media event titled: Are our municipal ships sinking? The experts also agreed that the Auditor General’s reports were giving a clear picture of the country’s municipalities and what needs to be done.
