The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME), in partnership with National Treasury, conducted an implementation evaluation of the Cities Support Programme (CSP) as part of the 2016/17 National Evaluation Plan. The evaluation aimed to:

  • assess the programme's design and implementation, focusing on its relevance, coherence, efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability; and
  • identify key lessons and recommendations to enhance the CSP's performance, ensuring the programme can effectively promote the development of inclusive, productive, and sustainable cities.
