This article discusses the remarks made by KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube during the BRICS Urbanisation Forum held in Durban. She emphasised the province's interest in learning from the expertise of BRICS member countries on managing challenges related to rapid urbanisation, population growth, socio-economic disparities, and environmental issues. The forum, centred around the theme "Advancing Urban Resilience for Sustainable Cities and Towns for Future Generations," has convened leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The focus of the event is to explore how these nations are responding to climate change impacts and enhancing urban resilience.
