Tool/ Toolkit

Africa

This toolkit is designed to help cities communicate their Inclusive Climate Action (ICA) more effectively. It provides strategies, resources, and tools to support cities in engaging communities and building public and political support for climate initiatives that are fair and inclusive.

The toolkit focuses on:

  • Engaging vulnerable communities most impacted by climate change, such as informal workers, women, youth, migrants, and people living with disabilities.
  • Raising awareness about the importance of equity in climate policies and programmes.
  • Developing strategic communication plans that align city climate actions with the priorities of citizens.
  • Increasing visibility and understanding of city climate programmes to gain public trust and political support.
  • Providing practical resources, such as message development, storytelling techniques, media engagement, and templates, which cities can adapt to their local contexts.

Ultimately, the toolkit aims to help cities strengthen their inclusive climate efforts and inspire other cities to adopt best practises.
