Biography
Peta de Jager is a registered professional architect, an ethicist and instructional designer in the field of building science and technology for the built environment unit at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Peta leads the Architectural Engineering research group which focuses on the development and application of science to support immovable asset procurement, design, construction, operation, maintenance and strategic planning. The team has successfully completed a set of guidelines for South Africa's healthcare infrastructure (IUSS). It is currently active in supporting the departments of health in TB Infection, prevention and control and waste management, under a collaboartive award of the CDC. The team is leading a multi-stakeholder effort to draft a technology roadmap for mainstreaming science technology and innovation to foster sustainable human settlements.
